This project was the result of a collaborative effort between myself, my other graphic design partner, and a small group of marketing majors pretending to be associates of the famous hard seltzer brand, White Claw. The marketers employed the help of graphic designers to design their new ad campaign for their new line of low ABV seltzers as a simulation for real industry connections.
After we had been pitched the new product, the taglines, and what it was supposed to represent, as well as the project specifics, we (the graphic designers) got to work. In total, my partner and I produced a billboard advertisement, two magazine ads, as well as a window poster. Below is the work I had been solely responsible for.
One of the fun parts of this project for me was using Adobe Photoshop to replace the label on existing white claw cans with brand new flavors and colors for the final product mockups.
I'm happy to announce that the marketing team loved the results of our efforts.
All in all, this project was a great experience and provided a unique insight into the life of a graphic designer, collaborating with other departments and receiving feedback. It helped me to better understand the role of a graphic designer within an industry environment and gave me some pieces to be really proud of. It was also really fun to explore design in both small environments such as publications, and larger environments such as billboards.
